About Supervision
I work in a way that is flexible, adapting my style and using various models (e.g. developmental/focus/process/cyclical models) to suit the needs of the supervisee(s) and their clients, and keeping both safe. When we first meet we will negotiate an agreement which will include frequency and timing of supervision, fees and boundaries, etc.
I follow the BACP Code of Ethics and Practice for the Supervision of Counsellors:
"The primary purpose of supervision is to ensure that the counsellor is addressing the needs of the client. Supervision is a formal collaborative process encompassing many functions concerned with
organisation
The supervisory relationship must by its nature be confidential
A counsellor should never work without supervision."
